Bastrop, the county seat of Bastrop County, is a short drive east on Highway 71 from Austin. I have been handling cases in Bastrop County since I first opened my offices in Austin, Texas, in 2006. From 2000 to 2006, I practiced exclusively in Southern California. But the lure of the city of my alma mater the University of Texas at Austin, School of Law, brought me home to Austin, Texas. While my principal office is in Austin, Texas, a substantial percentage of my business comes from Bastrop County, Texas. In Bastrop County, I handle all types of criminal defense matters, from low-level misdemeanors to serious felonies, including driving while intoxicated (DWI), theft, possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana, manufacture, and delivery of a controlled substance, assault, assault family violence, burglary, evading arrest and detention, and criminal mischief.

Experienced Bastrop County Criminal Defense Lawyers

When selecting legal representation, you must realize that the experience is essential. The way that your attorney handles your case will determine the outcome and, thus, your future. Having an attorney who regularly practices in Bastrop County and has extensive dealings with the prosecutors and the courts can be the difference between a good result and a bad one.

Proven Track Record in Bastrop County Criminal Defense Cases

I have accumulated a highly successful record of acquittals, dismissals, and reductions in defense of criminal cases. It is important to note that each case is different, and this is not a guarantee of the outcome in your specific situation.

I will, however, put my 20 years of experience, my reputation, my outstanding results, and my fantastic reviews up against any other criminal defense lawyer in Central Texas.

Reasonable Fees

At the Law Offices of Jason Trumpler, my fees are reasonable. I charge fees that are commensurate with an attorney of my experience. I have tried far more cases than your average lawyer, and I have had much better results in many cases than your average lawyer. At this stage of my career, I have taken over 100 cases to verdict at trial before a jury. When you sit down to consult with a lawyer, ask him or her how many cases he or she has tried to a jury. There are some fantastic lawyers out there that have gone to trial and won a lot of cases. Some of whom have tried and won more cases than I have, and many lawyers would not know where to sit if the case went to trial.

I charge what I charge at my firm because I believe in providing high-quality legal representation at an exceptional value. I grew up blue-collar. I served our great nation in the United States Army. I know what it is like to put in a hard day's work.

Saying the above, hiring any lawyer is not cheap, specifically a lawyer with my experience. While my fees are competitive, I understand that you expect results. The only outcome I can promise is that I am going to do everything I can within the confines of legal ethics to get you the best conclusion to your situation possible. I can do no more, and you should expect no less.

Collateral Consequences for Bastrop County DWI Case, BWI Case, or Alcohol-Related Driving Case

A Bastrop County DWI, DUI, BWI, or other Alcohol-Related Driving Charge has severe consequences. You may lose your driver's license, experience a substantial increase in car insurance rates, pay hefty fines and court costs, and possibly face jail time. Even if the Court or DPS suspends your license, however, in most cases, I can secure you an occupational license.

Make Sure to Schedule Your Administrative License Review (ALR) Hearing Within 15 Days

If you have been arrested or cited for DUI, DWI, BWI, or any other alcohol-related driving offense, you have 15 days from the date of arrest to contact DPS to schedule an Administrative License Review (ALR) Hearing. Failure to do so will lead to the automatic suspension of your Texas driver's license. If you contact me within these 15 days, I will schedule the ALR Hearing for you. If DPS suspends your license for failing to request your ALR Hearing in a timely fashion or because I lost the ALR Hearing, if otherwise eligible, I will obtain an Occupational License for you.

Brief Attorney Biography

I graduated in December of 1999 from the University of Texas at Austin School of Law, one of the nation's best law schools. After graduation, I worked for the Ventura County, California, District Attorney's Office as a Deputy District Attorney. During my tenure there, I developed a knack for creatively and successfully trying complex cases.

I briefly entered the civil arena from 2001 until 2002 before returning to criminal law as a Deputy District Attorney in Orange County, California. During my career as a prosecutor, I took over 40 jury trials to verdict. I also trained law enforcement officers throughout Orange County in investigative techniques, DWI/DUI enforcement, testimony, and report writing. While with the Orange County District Attorney's Office, I tried several cases with renowned DUI Defense Attorney Myles L. Berman. I was eventually recruited by Mr. Berman to run his Orange County Office, which I did for over two years.

All said and told, I have taken over 100 jury trials to verdict. I have evaluated cases as both a prosecutor and criminal defense lawyer and tried cases on both sides successfully. I have an excellent reputation among peers, prosecutors, and the bench.
