You Are Facing Serious Punishment

Officer unlocking jail cell door

Potential sentencing for federal crimes is often much more severe than for state-level offenses. Here is what you are facing for federal felony charges:

  • Class A Felony: Life imprisonment or death
  • Class B Felony: At least 25 years in prison
  • Class C Felony: 10 to 24 years in prison
  • Class D Felony: 5 to 9 years in prison
  • Class E Felony: 1 to 4 years in prison

As you can see, even the lowest class of felony tried in a federal court holds a minimum of one year in prison. Each of these charges can also carry fines of up to $250,000. Federal misdemeanors are also serious, as they can lead to up to one year imprisonment and a $100,000 financial penalty.

We Defend Many Federal Charges

When you are arrested for a crime that involves local jurisdictions, local law enforcement officers and court systems oversee your charges, trial, and sentencing. Federal cases, however, are investigated by federal agencies, such as the FBI, DEA, ICE, Border Patrol, or IRS. These cases are tried in federal courts and the penalties for convicted individuals could include time in a federal penitentiary.

Federal crime charges mean you need a federal criminal defense attorney. Our defense lawyer encourages clients to reach out as soon as possible if they are charged with:

  • Child pornography
  • Computer and internet crimes
  • Counterfeiting
  • Credit card fraud
  • Espionage
  • Federal conspiracy
  • Human trafficking
  • Kidnapping
  • Mail fraud
  • Mortgage fraud
  • Tax fraud
  • Terrorism or terroristic threats

Acting Fast Is Crucial

The sooner you call our law office, the sooner we can begin creating a defense for your case. As a former prosecutor, attorney Jason Trumpler can bring a unique perspective to your case and use his knowledge of local and federal laws to help defend you against criminal charges. A Plea Deal Could Be the Wrong Move

Lawyers working at a table

Regardless of if you are charged with a white collar crime, violent offense, or human trafficking, it is common for prosecutors to pressure defendants into accepting plea deals even if they are innocent. They achieve this by telling defendants that the punishment after a guilty plea will be less severe than it would be if they went to court and were found guilty at trial. The practice is so common that a 2023 report by the American Bar Association found that 98% of federal cases end with a plea bargain.

Protect your future. Instead of pleading guilty to charges you might be able to beat in court, choose representation from our federal criminal defense lawyer. Jason Trumpler does everything in his power to make sure his clients find freedom.
